Hello,

I'm running a 3CX V16.0.930 installed on a Debian server and I've been trying to change the default PDF that comes attached in the extension welcome email so I can send it on a different language. I've looked inside this folder:

Code:
/usr/share/3cxpbx/skel/Data/Http/Guides

Inside I found the PDF that I'm interested in which is
Code:
get_started_with_3cx_FR.pdf
and the one that is sent by default by the name of
Code:
get_started_with_3cx_DEFAULT.pdf
So my first guess was that with a simple rename and deleting the original one should be enough to stop it from sending the default english version but when I tried to create a new extension it still sends the old one. I also tried to reboot the machine after the rename with no luck either.

¿Is there another way to change this? ¿Where's 3CX pulling that PDF from? ¿Is there another way to change this without having to change the whole OS language and re-installing the PBX?

Thanks in advance.

Best regards

I've found this to be easier said than done. I also looked in the /usr/share/3cxpbx/skel/Data/Http/Guides directory and went so far as deleting everything in there, yet the PDF still sent, so it must be streamed from elsewhere and attached to the email.

I was sure to restart all services and failing that, restarting the whole PBX VM just to be sure.

Hi Kris, thank you for your answer.

So I guess our only solution will be to completely uninstall the 3CX PBX and change the whole OS language... o_O and I'm not even sure if that would work either.

I've got a ticket open with them, I'll update you when I have an (hopefully) more favourable answer.

I'm not sure if you used pbxexpress or if this is an on-prem installation; however, take a backup of everything and then if you did use pbxexpress you can log into your customer area with 3CX and click 'deploy' again, it will take you through the pbxexpress process to create another instance as well as changing the DNS on the 3CX side to match the new IP address.

That's awesome, thanks for that.

It's an on-premise installation so I guess I don't have that option :(

No but you can still do a backup, this time checking off all options including "License Key Information, FQDN & Conference", do a re-install and then restore from backup :)

Okay, I can confirm after testing there appear to be two nearly identical directories in this system:

/usr/share/3cxpbx/Data/Http/Guides/ and /var/lib/3cxpbx/Data/Http/Guides/

The directory that I've just tested replacing the "get_started_with_3cx_DEFAULT.pdf" file in and it worked flawlessly was /var/lib/3cxpbx/Data/Http/Guides/.

Try replacing it there?
