Chat notification when adding a renamed old extension

Hello,

Currently, there seems to be the following bug:

1) Extension A belongs in a chat group.
2) Extension A is removed from the chat group.
3) Extension A is deleted from the 3cx management console.
4) Extension A is created again with a different name --> "Extension B"
5) If we add extension B to the old chat group, then we get the following notification: "Extension A has been added by....."

I could successfully replicate it.

Can you provide me the steps to reproduce? I've tried what you've mentioned above in Groups and in Queues (Live Chat?), and I don't get this error.

Hello @VasilisV_3CX,

You don't need to add the extension to a group or in a queue.
Just a normal chat group between 3 extensions (tested in the 3cx web client & windows client) and you follow the steps as mentioned above.
I could also sent you a small video where I replicate the issue.

Ah thanks for explaining that more! I know exactly what you're talking about. I've tried to replicate it and I'm not able to, not by removing the extension prior to deletion or leaving it in the chat group and then deleting it and recreating it.

Can you replicate this with all chat groups or is it specifically one group? If you create a new chat group and 2 new extensions, then remove the one and delete it and readd it - does the same thing happen with a new group?

Is the user of the extension that'll be deleted registered anywhere else at the time (the mobile app etc)?

Hi @VasilisV_3CX ,

I could replicate it with 3 different groups.
I just created 3 new extensions and did the steps as mentioned above and still the same problem.
There were also no mobile apps, deskphones phones assigned to the extensions.

5) If we add extension B to the old chat group, then we get the following notification: "Extension A has been added by....."

Only the notification is wrong.
If we go to the chat group information, then we can see the correct name of the extension.
