Hello guys.

Anytime I click on a number in Chrome to dial with the 3CX Webclient, Google Chrome request I use its own click to call.

Does anyone know how to disable this feature so we can use the Webclient exclusively?

Hello @10m ,

Can you please provide more information about "Google Chrome request I use its own click to call."

Give me an example of your case.

Hi @Constantinos Constantinou.

A few weeks or months ago I noticed when I tried to use the click to call feature in 3CX via the 3CX Phone app, I would get a pop up in Chrome (I think Chrome Click to Call), asking if I want to sync my computer to my Android phone so I can make calls using the Android phone. Now I reconfigured the 3CX click to call extension to use the webclient instead.

Hi,

This should be taken care of with update 4 and the new chrome plugin.

Hello @10m ,

Do you have a site that you can share with me or in a personal message, so that we can see how the parsing mechanism behaves in that case?

Is the new Chrome plugin available now?

Hi John,

I have the U4 with the Chrome Extension and it still occurs to me sometimes.

Some tel/callto links do that.

Sorry about that Frederick, I suspect that the "some" you are referring to are not caught by our filter and probably caught by the Chrome filter.

Post a URL of a site here as an example

Hello,

we are having the exact same issue with our Dynamics 365 CRM.

  • It works fine if you click the number from a list view
  • If you go into a contact record and click on the phone icon, a new phone record and the chrome popup that 10m mentioned opens up.

We are using 16.0.4.493 and the new 3CX Click to call extension.

Hi @tschick

When you say new phone record, is this before you even add a number?

Can you circle where you clicked exactly which caused the popup?

Hi @JohnS_3CX

Sorry, the phrasing might have been a little misleading.

If you click on the phone icon next to a phone field on a form (account/contact/whichever):

a new telephone call activity record is automatically opened (this is standard dynamics behaviour). But then the chrome popup opens and the phone call is not actually performed by 3CX:

Regards

Thanks for the clarification, we will look into it

This is because that phone icon in Dynamics uses the "tel:" protocol. That's not an HTTP link. Then, this is passed on to the browser, and the browser needs to find a local app to handle this protocol. The 3CXPhone for Windows client is able to handle the "tel:" protocol, so you should select the 3CXPhone for Windows client there, and click to call will work with it.

Meaning we cannot achieve this with the browser extension? And there are no plans to support it?

The Chrome Extension might support the "tel:" URI in the future, but at the moment it's not possible.

Any update on this one?

We are running 16.04.493 with the WebClient and 3CX Click to Call Chrome browser extention. When we click a telephone number in the Dynamics 365 contact field we receive the following:1583773981149.png
If we click "Open" 3CX is not an option to select. Clicking "Cancel" returns us to the browser with Dynamics 365 and the New Telephone Call notes screen is open. How can I get this to actually dial out?

Dynamics generates the web site with "tel:" URIs. Then, you can only make these calls with apps that support this protocol. The 3CXPhone for Windows client does support it, so if you have it installed, you should be able to make the call with it.

Thank you edossantos. Am I correct that I need the WebClient in order to have a screen pop on incoming calls and the Desktop Client for the click to call from Dynamics? Are there plans in the works to unify to one platform? Thanks.
