Having to deal with spam calls in multiple PBX systems one realizes, that the CID Blacklist only allows you to import numbers. You can not export. so if you have blocked a lot of spam callers then you have to manually copy and past them to a 2nd, 3rd ... PBX.

Furthermore, when blocked cIDs call, the phones ring and the call log only tels you a given number called and was lost. You do not know that this caller was blocked. The manager or team in that call group gets an email and then also tries to call back that blocked number. That creates a lot of frustration for admins and users.

Here some suggestions for improvement of 3CX:

- CID Blacklist: allow export of CID Blacklist
- call log:: mark caller ID as blocked/blacklisted
- Notifications: do not inform by email that a call was missed OR highlight, that this is a blocked caller!

What we do is use contacts to store the blacklisted numbers (this way we know with the name, as we put a *BLOCKED* prefix) and those you can export.

As for blacklist, in v20, you can play around with the XAPI (the new Admin console backend API) to grab those, store as CSV or whatever, and reimport on other systems. OR, build a custom app to parse/push from one to the other via that same API.

Yes, that is a workaround but not a good solution

Hi Chris.
How do you identify who is the spam caller?

simple, when we get a call and a user reports this as a spam call then we reserch the number and add it to the CID Blacklist. What is the most annoying type is the ping call. The caller lets it ring for 5 seconds and then drops the line. These calles we also research and then try to block.

Some weeks we have massive amount of reported missed calls which are ping calls and scammers trying to dail a number of an elderly person to scam them. We handle Sip trunks for a several pbx with numbers all across Europe.

There is no country that has a system in place to block such scams effectiviely. They call from foreign number, cell phone numbers and land line numbers.

So indeed there is no other option than what you mentioned for those blacklisted numbers, that system has.
Maybe your best solution if possible, will be to block those numbers on the trunk level before they even enter the PBX. So you apply those settings on your provider and then set them to apply all of your trunk accounts.

What do you mean with at trunk level? I see no such setting in 3CX and the different sip trunk services do not offer blocking on their customer service sites

SIP trunk provider and its settings and not the 3CX System.

What he means is block the numbers from the SBC/peer level. Not PBX. So if you provide the SIP trunk, you should be able to have some sort of "global blacklist" to prevent those calls from ever reaching a PBX.

Unfortunately our local sip trunk provider does not offer such advanced features.

Maybe you could report those numbers to them, so they create an exception for you, as this call is coming from the provider in the first place and the provider should be able to have some kind of a filter there.

I just tried, but MNet only lets you see you customer details and the login. There are no settings you can set. Systems like Telnyx are super detailed, but these local sip providers are not as adanced

But what if you contact them, and ask them, it must be the way as they have full control over their infrastructure.

I just called them. The technical support put me through to Sales !!!
I complained about the fact that the customer portal offers no settings, he then told me to contact a local partner.

The local partner has no ability to do any settings.

Indeed, and unfortunately, not all of them are willing to help.
Maybe you could take time to research and find one of the supported trunks that will be able to communicate with you on your requests, as from our end we don't have the features you are after. The ideas section of our community can be used and posts there are only from the partners with the Gold and above statuses.
