Forgive me if I sound like a newbie to this, that is because I am.
Is there any sample configuration for the Cicso 7941g phone & 3CX or template I can use to configure the phone to work with 3CX.
I've gotten the TFTP and SIP firmware on the server and phone see it but the XML is where I get lost.

Here is a resource for configuring your cnf.xml files. The 7941's work very well except the message waiting waiting indicator will not work and that is due to how Cisco has implemented the RFC.

Cisco 7941 config

Has any one successfully config Cisco 7941g phone to work with 3CX?
 
I have 10 of them working with 3CX. Let me know what is it you are having problems with and perhaps I can help. Have you installed the SIP firmware on the phones? If you need a working sample cfg.xml I can provide that.

Yes, I've installed the SIP firmware on the phones. A working sample of the cfg.xml files would be a great help.

Below is a configuration that will work with 3CX on a 7941 phone. Change the x.x.x.x to the address of your 3CX server. Set the time zone to your locale and ntp server of your choice. Change the 1111's to the extension number and password of your phones. Change the SIP41.8-2-2SR1S in load information to the firmware file version you are using. Save this file as SEPMACaddressofphone.cnf.xml. Place this file in the root directory of your TFTP server. Make sure to configure option 150 in your phone DHCP server scope to point to your TFTP server.

This config assumes the voice mail extension is 9999. It also configures the second line button to automaticaly dial nine for an outside line when pressed.

Cisco 7941 deployment

Your SEPcfg.xml looks good. Can you monitor the TFTP server and see that the .cfg.xml file is actually being transfered successfully to the phone?

you can check the IP Phone under settings -> options 6 and then option 1 to see if the phone can find the SEP<mac>.xml file on your tftp server

The TFTP says is transfers xml file successfully.

Status message says on phone stays:

I place empty CTLfile.tlv and phone goes in to loop.

I may remember running into this. Something to do with the firmware files that can be loaded have the extension bin or sbin, with the sbin being the secure files requirining a certificate on the server. I believe I only used the non-secure files with the system I implemented. Sorry to be so vague.

Cisco 7941

I checked the Cisco 7941's that I have installed and are working, they show: the No CTL installed messge and a TFTP Timeout: CTLFile.tlv
However they work fine. So it looks like it is a problem with the SEPmac.cfg.xml file. When I get a chance I will try your config on one of our phones to see if I can see where the problem is.
 
Hi Guys
This occurs when a certificate trust list (CTL) file is not installed in the phone. This also occurs if security is not configured or, if security is configured, because the CTL file does not exist on the TFTP server.

You should unlock the CTL to make any changes to it anyway - to unlock do the following:

--Press **# to unlock options on the Security Configuration menu.
If you decide not to continue, press **# again to lock options on this menu.

---Highlight the CTL option.

----Press the Unlock softkey to unlock the CTL file.

Let me check further on this ok and I will get back and update the post. However we will need to update the CTL file for sure - you have either a missing or wrong CTL on the phone.

i think that this will resolve the issue - you also need some "security tokens" from another CTL file. everything is explained in this pdf.
