hello everybody!!

i set up a new 3cx server (v 15.5) and i am facing a certain problem. i add a new ip phone (cisco spa504g) and in the user interface of the phone i add the server address for the provision. the thing is that in the 3cx management software the light of the extension is green, the led buttons on the phone are also green, so i assume that it works but in the phone screen, in the status menu the provisioning status is failed (download failure).

i assume that is due to the fact that the cisco phone is searching for the xml file with its mac address?in the provisioning folder there is no xml file with the phone mac address. i read that the new 3cx firmware doesn't store this file locally.

is everything ok?will it work?is there any way to changed the message in my phone so that it says provisiong succeeded?

thanks in advance!! :)

Hello @tolkap,

Please note that the configuration file is now generated on the fly upon request from the phone so you will no see it in the provisioning folder.
Once the phone is provisioned it will appear in the phones tab of the management console as provisioned.
Also note that these phones can only be provisioned as local extension and are not supported for STUN or SBC provisioning.
Please see the following guide on how to manually provision these phones

thank you for your answer. the phone is provisioned in the 3cx management console (green light left to the extension). the only thing that worries me is the message that i get in the display of the phone (menu - status - provisioning - status failed, download failed).

i suppose the reason that i get this message is due to the fact that there is no xml file stored locally...is this going to be a problem or is it normal for cisco phones and 3cx firmware 15.5?

The message you are getting is not normal. It should say succeeded there. The file may not be present but it is generated and provided to the phone upon request. Perhaps you are not on firmware 7.6.1 and the support files of the phone are not present.

The extension can be green for a number of reasons like push is enabled or you have the option ring my mobile simultaneously.
Do you see the phone as provisioned in the phones tab?

the firmware is 7.6.1. the phone appears on the phone tab....and on the extension tab, the extension attached to this phone is green. i read in a forum that the transfer protocol should be http and not https...i also changed that in both the phone's interface and in the device...

Did you reset your phone to factory default before connecting to the new server? I found that on v15.5 I had to do that on my SNOM phones. I did this over local lan.

i reset it afterwards...after i have created the extension and added the phone. i will delete the extension and the phone and try the reset first...
