Hello,

We enabled click to call feature using the new Windows App, it works great except in Gmail contact card.
We use Google Workspace, internal extension numbers are added in Google Contacts info, when you receive an email in Gmail if you hover over the sender or recipient Gmail present a small contact card showing the extension number.

This number is not clickable and not detected as a telephone number, is there any way we can click on that extension number to initiate a call? This would be more efficient for our users than going to Google Contacts page, fine the user and click on the extension number, which works perfectly there.

@Ayman ,

Checked with normally formatted numbers (7-15 digits) and everything works OK.

With numbers that are of less digits then you will not get any clickable links.

The purpose of this restriction is to work more efficiently and identify numbers rather than parsing whatever numbers are on the browsing site.

That is understandable, it was meant mainly to call external numbers.
Our users rarely call external users, I thought someone might suggest a workaround to let this work, for example an option to reduce the number of digits required.

Although if we search for the user in Google Contacts the same extension number (4 digits) is clickable there and can call using 3CX App, does that suggest that it might not be restricted by only the number of digits?

In the details page of contact, Google is using tel: protocol for the numbers. As a result this instantly is converted to 3CX Clickable link.

On the other hand on popout window there is no tel protocol.

You can though open the "Open detailed view" and call it from there.

That is clear.

Unfortunately even in the "Open detailed view" the 4 digit extension is not clickable, but only from the full Google Contacts page.

Anyway, thank you for your time and info, hopefully Google will add the tel: protocol in the popup card.
