Hey Guys,
Since starting using the V18 Windows app we are having 5 second delays for click to call. I believe this is related to the contacts but I can't be sure. The old method with the extension was instant. Anyone got an idea? It's quite slow!
It's even slower if the contact exists in the system - probably 'cos we have a large contact base and the lookup takes a while - and unfortunately the lookup happens on number entry instead of on call

I'm not using the extension - I'm talking about the new V18 desktop app.
My CRM already has phone numbers using the tel: extension so that part is working fine.
The delay is when any device (windows device) clicks on a tel: link to call a number

I have 147 pages of contacts - so a lot. But actually I'm not sure it is with contacts. My speciications are good enough and I see no increase in CPU or memory - they are sitting at about 2% at all times.
And yes on all PCs we have the same issue

To clarify, when I click the number nothing happens at first - it just sits there and EVENTUALLY the number appears and then the contact in the application

Hi @Grant Moxom,

So any extension provisioned to a Desktop App on any device (any other PC) has the same delay when clicking the tel links?
Does this happen to any device that registers an extension on the PBX or is it specific to 1 device?

Hi @Grant Moxom,

When I say "extension" I mean user's extension added to the system (such as ext 101). Can you create an entirely new extension (Users >> Add) and provision the extension on another device (using the Welcome Email, log in to the Web Client on another device, then install the Desktop Client and chrome click2call extension and see if the same thing happens there as well?

If by All devices, you mean you've already done the above, let me know.

Hi @Grant Moxom,

Just to keep you updated, there will be some improvements made to the Desktop App with regards to the issue above in the Update 2 release.

Yes I already did the above - but it sounds like update 2 will fix the bug =) Let's see and if not when the 3cx extension is released we should be good =)

Great @Grant Moxom! As update 2 BETA was released yesterday, I'd suggest giving it a bash and letting me know the outcome!

Cheers. It's only the beta and won't have time to test a beta on my test server but as soon as it releases I'll be trying it!
