Despite a slight delay and as originally planned, the search bar in the Web Client and Desktop App now searches across contacts and team members (as did the search bar in the old web client). Try Update 2 Beta (for Linux) for additional support and improvements to the MS Teams integration.

Global search bar is back

Web Client - Mark Contacts as favorites

When in the “People” view (previously “Team”), you can search for names or numbers across all your contacts, including: company, CRM, MS 365 or your personal contacts. Personal contacts are hidden by default, however we’ve added a toggle option to include/exclude personal contacts to the listing. You can also assign team members to your own “Favorite” list by pressing the star icon on the desired contact.

Improved integration with Microsoft Teams

We have further improved our teams integration in this update:

  • Transfer calls: Now if you answer a call from MS Teams, you are able to transfer the call to a 3CX extension or another Teams user.
  • Easier integration setup: To avoid misconfiguration, we’ve added validation checks for the specified FQDN, certificate/private key and generated PowerShell scripts.
  • SIP forking: Calls can be routed to both 3CX and Teams apps.

Other fixes and improvements

  • Update of 3CX supported CRM templates to use exact contact match
  • Streamlined call journaling process by matching agents with their email address
  • Refreshed system libraries along with improvements on tunnel and audio quality

New Click2Call Extension to be published soon

A new 3CX Click2Call Browser Extension for Chrome and Edge to replace the old browser extension is coming soon after Update 2 Final. This Browser extension no longer has the inbuilt dial pad but will be only for turning numbers in web pages to clickable links. The old browser extension will be available in a separate link for Linux and Mac OS users, but they will have to re-install it.

How to get V18 Update 2 Beta

Try out V18 Update 2 Beta for Linux 3CX V18 on Debian 10 ISO. Current version 18 users can upgrade to the Beta release from the Management Console.
