Looking forward to on-prem web meeting! Cloud based webmeeting works well EXCEPT for the synchronising problem that occurs everyday, preventing webmeeeting from starting until the system service is restarted :-(
 
Hi there Steve, have you tried SP5? We've made certain improvements for the meeting synchronization there.
 
We didnt have automatic update on. I have manually updated now. Hopefully this has resolved the problem. We will know tomorrow when we use the webmeeting again. Fingers crossed!
 
I'm looking forward to this feature!
I hope it will come soon.

While yes, I can certainly agree with the management challenges that can arise, however, with some experience there are ways to mitigate potential problems and be quite productive. One feature in most competitor products to help combat larger meeting issues is the ability to generate breakout rooms (particularly in meetings with video from all participants). These can be helpful to generate cohorts in a larger group of attendees who can then work through the meeting content in more manageable sizes, much like a traditional onsite meeting might be organized.

I agree with this. 100 participants shouldn't be a problem, especially when it's not for your competitors. My son had a basketball coaching session the other week via Zoom. There were 100+ participants and it was flawless. I, like others, struggle to get 10 or 12 working consistently on the 3CX platform.

On a different note, will this potentially open up the possibility of resellers being able to provision our clients to use a server that we host ourselves via the management console?

could not agree more with you. To add insult to injury, and without turning this into a mud slinging thread, or attack on competitor offerings, the pain is that much more intense when news channels are uncovering questionable software development implementation and distribution, an subsequently, tangible privacy breaches documented and or potential for product misuse to result in similar outcomes.
I think a strong and often overlooked corporate trait is operational integrity and honesty. I am not aware of any instance of 3CX operating with such blatant and gross negligence as certain other technology service providers are starting to reveal a history of misuse of their own infrastructure as well as the disregard for operating their company and services as described and sold (with regard to terms of service, privacy policies, and overall software development best practices.)
The fact that a certain computer manufacturer took unprecedented and immediate action without deferring to the developer to correct and update code was a monumental “gesture” to both the developer’s poor judgement and that as a consumer we can only hope that our best interests are shared by those in a position to deliver on any expectations of privacy or service as sold.
To that end, I think this is a huge opportunity for 3CX to potentially market and build on as a partner with integrity in such unprecedented and quickly evolving market changes that are becoming a day to day norm.

Building on this, I am quietly hoping there will forthcoming LDAP or SSO integration on the roadmap if not already in development.
i think it’s foolish overlook such a critical and end user business need, that is offered in every closed source market offering, and a large Majority of the open source Solutions I’ve seen.
it would be incredibly helpful to be able to utilize LDAP/SSO across the PBX platform and WebMeeting offering as described in forthcoming on premise implementation.
the on demand initiation of a meeting can quickly turn Into login after login depending on the way the meeting is initiated.
the major competitor reporting dashboards, real-time network reporting and gradual reporting of key quality Performance indicators has become an expected solution feature that should also be taken into consideration. For both corporate reporting, compliance, etc as well as sales and marketing reporting, the depth of some competitors is quite huge.

Good to hear that!
We have another reason for wanting this local MCU - we have a plant in China. Cloud-based services that are not hosted in China suffer hugely from the big red firewall. We now have a dedicated tunnel (also by a Chinese cloud company, but using our IPSEC keys) which delivers low latency and no packet loss.
It would be much easier to include meetings into this construct if we could host our own MCU. To selectively route the 3cx cloud servers through this is also possible, but more tricky and prone to breaking when 3cx changes / adds new IP addresses in the cloud.

we are very very interested in carrying out on-premises implementation of webmeeting services. How can we do it?
we have the resources for it and we need it asap.
