We have Enterprise version on Windows, and we are going to downgrade to Pro
This is what 3CX support told us about the process:
"In this case, the license cannot be directly downgraded on the existing PBX, but a fresh installation and a backup restoration is requied in this case.
The recommended approach would be:
- Take a full backup of the existing PBX without including the FQDN and license key details.
(You may refer to our Backup & Restore Commands guide for more details)
- Purchase the PRO 48 SC license.
- Install a new PBX using the PRO 48 SC license from the Portal.
- Once the new PBX is up and running, restore the previously taken backup (the one without FQDN and license key details).
Note:
The restore cannot be performed during the installation wizard. The backup file should first be uploaded to a backup location accessible by the new PBX, and the restore should then be initiated from
Admin Console > Backups."
Is this really the case ? In your blog you mention that
"Seamless Transition
Once you select the PRO Edition during renewal and complete the transaction, your system will automatically transition to the new, more cost-effective license tier when the previous one expires."
Full system reinstall is not really a seamless transition
