Following our recent announcement about the new Basic Edition, we want to dive deeper into the ability to downgrade your edition at renewal time.
We understand that business needs evolve. What was a necessity one year may become an underutilized feature the next. This new functionality is already available for ENT/AI and PRO editions. Downgrading to Basic Edition will be introduced with U8. This gives you complete control and flexibility over your licensing ensuring you’re always getting the best value for your investment.
Why the Downgrade Option?
We’re committed to providing the right communication solution at the right price. The new downgrade option allows customers who find the robust feature set of the Basic Edition, for example, to be sufficient for their daily operations—without needing the advanced features of PRO or ENT/AI—to optimize their annual expenditure.
- Cost Optimization: Stop paying for advanced features (like AI, extensive CRM integration, or complex call center routing) if your team is simply not using them.
- Tailored Licensing: Align your license more precisely with your current operational needs.
- Maximum Flexibility: Easily switch between editions as your business grows or streamlines its operations.
You will be able to downgrade from ANY edition down to ANY currently-available edition.
No Refunds! How and When It Works
The ability to downgrade is a simple and straightforward process tied directly to your annual subscription cycle.
Timing is Key
The downgrade option is only available through the renewal process, and no pricing compensation or refunds will be possible. However, you can be smart about it, and perform the downgrade very close to the renewal date.
The Renewal Shopping Cart
When your license expiration date approaches, you will navigate to the renewal process. Here, you will be presented with the option to renew your current edition (e.g., ENT/AI) or select a lower-tier edition, such as the PRO Edition.
Seamless Transition
Once you select the PRO Edition during renewal and complete the transaction, your system will automatically transition to the new, more cost-effective license tier when the previous one expires.
Important Note: This feature currently allows downgrading from higher-tier editions (such as PRO or ENT/AI) down to any lower edition, even down to the Basic Edition once it becomes available. We encourage all customers considering a downgrade to review the Full Feature List to confirm the feature set meets their requirements before renewal.
