Is 3cx phone system compatible with ISDN PCI Card (with CAPI 2.0)?

If yes, have you already tested one?

thanks again

William

No, it only works with cards or gateways that have a SIP interface. You can find the supported list of gateways here

http://www.3cx.com/support/voip-gateways.html

BRI ISDN cards

Why don't you write a interface for Capi? (In Europe) many small companies using 1 or 2 ISDN lines. A BRI ISDN card is a low cost possibility to migrate to a Voip PBX.

Use ISDN cards with the HFC chipset, used by many brands (same Capi).
At this moment we are testing the SipCat server (asterisk based) which has a standard detection voor these cards.

Looking around I see SIP ISDN gateways that would work with 3CX. 3CX does not support internal cards and there are SIP external gateways to talk to just about anything using SIP standard. I think it makes sense from a business standpoint not to have to write drivers (and support them) for hundreds of different boards on the market.

VOIP gateways

VOIP gateways will perform much better and are much more scaleable. Patton is launching a 2 port BRI ISDN gateway, the 4554, that will have an enduser price of about 350 euros.

Very inexpensive, and a much better solution then using some outdated ISDN card. Remember the old ISDN cards wont even have echo cancellation.

Its time to invest in the better and newer technology rather then hold on to the old stuff.
