I may very well be missing something completely obvious, as I am very much new to 3cx, but is there any way to just turn off the call queue after hours?

The situation is, a user can call in after hours and they are forwarded to a basic "We are closed" recording. However, if the caller were to input the call queue extension (let's say, 301) they will hit the queue, regardless of office hours. The queue's agents are either DnD or Away, so the call is forwarded to voicemail, however, I am wondering if there's any way to simply turn off the queue after hours?

Any assistance is greatly appreciated.
Regards

Instead of forwarding to a standard IVR out of hours, try using a DTMF Input IVR. You can use the same prompt and mimic the 0-9 selection but it should bypass the direct extension dialing.

How will they know to input "301". Most IVR's will give a menu selection requiring a single digit option." For sales press 1, for billing press 2"... Any multi digit input is usually reserved for callers that all ready know a users extension number. How would they know the internal number of a queue? Why would any agents be logged in after hours? If they did manage to guess the number, and it got then nowhere, why would they try it again?

what do you expect 3CX does instead of "we are closed message" ?

normally your trunk should forward calls to Q during OH and forward somewhere else when OOH so Q is not reachable .
Somewhere else can be lot of things , night IVR, a voice mail , forward to external number, end call,......

Hi @Bwittet

The Queues cannot be turned off, if you reach them though and there are no agents logged in you will hear the message that "There are no available agents in this queue".

One way to do it is to send your DID to an "Out of office hours" IVR or destination that will inform callers accordingly.
