Computer Hardware specification

On all my 3cx on prem installs, I have gotten a generic computer from a local computer company. The first few installs were great, no issues. However on the last 2 installs I’ve been running into problems with incompatible network cards and incompatible graphics cards. When I look at hardware specifications on the 3cx academy it doesn’t say much about which cards will and will not work. I’m wondering, is there a certain type of computer that anyone else uses consistently on their installs? It’s very difficult to bid a price when I think a computer will work, I buy it, and then none of the cards in it work with 3cx.

I am assuming you are trying to use Debian since the NIC won't work. You could either use Windows or try the 3CX v18 Debian 10 iso to see if it will work.

The Debian 9 installer is getting old and newer drivers are missing. It should get better once v18/Debian 10 is in production.

Thanks for the reply, and yes I am using Debian. I haven’t heard good things about windows but I think I may give it a shot just to try it out. I also hope v18/Debian 10 will help with this issue

Hi @Aaronb160,

As V18 Alpha is rather stable, I'd suggest giving it a go (download here), which runs on Debian 10 Buster. The OS won't be changing once the official V18 release comes along, and you'll most likely be able to upgrade directly through the Management Console.
