Conference call limit

Discovered today that conference calling from a live call is limited to three people. this seems to affect IOS and Android apps only, is there any specific reason for this? and is there a plan to increase this limit?

That's the ad-hoc conference, which indeed is limited to 3 on the apps and many phones, some high-end phones will support up to 5 or 7 participants.

To be more than that, use the 700/7000 conference bridge.

have an enterprise licence. but this limitation is set by the IOS / ANDROID apps - the webclient is fine.

For more than 3 participants you need to use the scheduled conference, the app informs you as soon as you press the conference button again, after the 3-way conference has already started.

appreciate that, my question is why is the limit enforced? and whether there are plans to increase it?

i ask as we've come from an old mitel solution that didn't have such limits.
