Configuration file: where ??

Hi

I have already a self-hosted system and I try to setup a second one for a customer but I have an issue. This time I have installed that new 3CX system using the ISO from 3CX as it's only supported option now. Initial installation went well without any problems. I'm now doing the web part of the final install but it asks for a configuration file from 3CX.
When I configure a new system in my 3CX online account it never offers me to download a configuration file (only a licence key to copy into new instance). Should I select the option to install without config file ? (although it's indicated as deprecated).

Side question: my existing system that is around 2 years old and had been installed by deb packages on a debian system must be reinstalled to still be able to use support ? or support accepts to support such systems considering that at that time it was one of the regular installation option.

I just set up two server in the past few weeks and used the legacy/key method because I couldn't get to anywhere that generated a config file, nor was I asked for one on either server. I suspect the new method is used when choosing other options in the wizard but those don't apply to how I was installing. Just now I went to https://www.3cx.com/install directly and it did let me go through the wizard, created a license key, and showed me a download for a config file. So there must be some difference.

The install method is just a way to get it installed, not related to support. As long as it's still licensed you're fine.

Thanks for details and yep going the legacy way worked perfect, I just filled in later the licence key and all is good now

Are you sure as I saw some discussions stating that 3CX won't support a licenced system if other softwares are installed on it :/ My other server I have also installed on it Webmin for sake of monitoring

I misunderstood/misread your question. I thought you were asking about installing via ISO without the config file. I am not sure about installing via package. If it doesn't upgrade Debian versions then you may need to reinstall. I believe I've read posts about the database not upgrading in some situations but I didn't really pay attention because we've always used the ISO. re: other software, yes they may ask you to remove it if you ask for support.

Yeah and it looks after checking my 3CX setup done from iso that in fact even standard Debian repo are disabled and OS updates are done also through 3CX repos ! It prevents you to install anything easily even Debian standard unix commands...
I'm also very surprised to discover that this installation lets the SSH server running on it which is a serious security flaw
