Hello everyone. I need a bit of help. We recently set up a 3CX server with version V20 Update 3 and configured two SIP trunks.

The issue with one of the SIP trunks is that I can make outbound calls, but when I call the SIP trunk’s number, I receive a message saying that the number is unavailable or not in use.

The problem with the second SIP trunk is that I can't make either outbound or inbound calls.

If yo have access to the 3Cx Activity Log, I would use that to determine if (in the case of the first trunk) the calls are even reaching 3CX. If there is no sign of an incoming call, then you'd probably want to involve your provider to see if they can tell you what is happening from their side.

In the case of the second trunk, assuming it is showing as registered, the Activity Log will show if an outbound rule is being used, and if the call is actually being sent to your provider, and, if so, is there an error message being returned. If the trunk isn't shown as registered, then that would explain why you are not receiving any calls as well.

You may need to set the Log to Verbose for meaningful information.

Hi Leejor, first of all, thank you for your quick response. I’ve checked everything you mentioned.

First, I contacted the provider, and they informed me that everything is fine on their end. However, when I log into the provider's user portal, it still shows that the SIP trunk is not active, even though it is configured within 3CX.

I managed to configure both SIP trunks, but the same issue occurs with both — I can make outbound calls, but I can't receive any.

I also checked the logs as you suggested, but I don’t have enough experience to fully understand them.

I found the issue. When creating the SIP trunk, I forgot to select the country. Thank you once again for your help!

No problem, glad you were able to resolve. Sometimes it is just the simplest thing, overlooked.
