I have an approved SIP trunk setup w/3CX;
-I’m trying to tie my Grandstream UCM6202 PBX to my 3CX SIP Trunk,
-From my 3CX extension (e.g., 1000) I’d like to dial my Grandstream UCM extension (e.g., 2000);
-is there a way to hookup Grandstream’s PBX to my 3CX SIP trunk?;
-the only notes I’ve found on the 3CX site are bridging, but that appears to be site-to-site.

Please let me know if there's documentation I can look at, or perhaps another post (I queried, but didn't see it),
-I see this: https://www.3cx.com/docs/manual/connecting-pbx-bridges, but that appears to be site-to-site (hope I'm not getting that wrong)

It is doable but I won't recommend it.

We got calls to work but issues with Caller IDs were never solved.

Stick to either UCM or 3CX, not both.

Hello Frederick,

Thanks for the quick reply,
-actually, I'm just trying to get extension to extension video only to work,
-CallerID issues are not a showstopper,
-Can you send me the documentation and I can give it a whirl?,
-Also, if I need to rollback, can you send a link for that too?

Please let me know.

Thanks,
-Ronald

There is no documentation. The way is simple using a master bridge on 3CX and then a register trunk on the UCM.

You're not asking much, are you.

3CX used to have a page dealing with bridging 3CX to Asterisk, which aided in bridging to most any other PBX.

However, in some cases, this proved much more difficult that it would appear, and caused a lot of frustration, as evidenced on the forum. Many assumed it would be a simple implementation. Bridging to other PBXs would now seem to be discouraged, as the features on 3CX evolve, and the expectation, that many of these features will be available over the bridge trunks. As mentioned, even passing the correct caller ID, can be a challenge.

There are also many other threads on the forum relating to this exact scenario, so a quick search might give some insights.

Hello Leejor,

Nooo I'm not asking much :)

I'm just having little troubles with master/bridge,
-I've been to Grandstream's forums (a few folks think they got this to work), and a few 3CX forums here, but I'm struggling w/documentation,
-clear to all in these forums I'm a newbie, but I'm Aesop's tortoise so I know I'll get it,
-so far, I got locked out, because I kept putting "Mater Bridge" as my PBX login, when I switched it to the Virtual Extension my trunk registered.
Phew.

Your archived link helps a bit,
-but because master and slave are foreign concepts, and Asterik and Grandtream's interfaces are different it's taking a bit to compare and contrast how-to's

In Master
-I think the Remote PBX IP is: xxxx.mn.3cx.us
In Slave,
-I think the Remote PBX is the Grandstream PBX's FQDN (here my ddns) IP

Right now, my Master is green
-but the slave is red

Still looking...
-as soon as I get it, I'll share documentation for Grandstream

Thanks for helping here!

Cheers,
-Ronald

Hello All,

Please let me know if this is correct, or not.

Not sure if this is up to date or valid, but on Grandstream's forum I found this:
https://forums.grandstream.com/t/resolved-ucm-to-3cx-trunking/10788/3

I have it working here now:
Set up a peer SIP trunk on UCM and 3CX.
On the 3CX Create a series of DDI’s which route calls to each extension. Logically I created a DDI 202 which routes calls to x202 and so on.
Now on the 3CX server, edit the SIP trunk settings you’ve just created, go to the Source ID tab and change 'SIP field containing DID numbers to ‘From:user part’.
Set up a dial plan to send calls to this trunk and they should display the extension number and callers name (if defined on the UCM) on your handset.
I tested with UCM6102 FW1.0.9.9 and GXP2130. 3CX12.5 with GXP2200 and GXP2130
However, it's a pretty dated post. Still, if it helps someone who's troubeshooting this issue it might be of help..

Thanks,
-Ronald

You can try it but this requires to setup each DID in 3CX for each UCM extension.

This is where the bridge comes in. Playing with the settings in a bridge might help you get calls going using a Master bridge (no slaves anywhere.)

In this case (3CX) ..."Master" simply means that the other end will register to 3CX, which all VoIP PBXs should be able to do. They may not be able to have 3CX register to them other that as an extension.

Technically, if 3CX is set as "master", then the other end would be considered a slave when viewed from the 3CX end, even though the other end is simply a SIP trunk, attempting to register to a server.
