Hello,

Hope you can help me with this problem. Since we installed 3CX I got everything working just fine in my Notebook a Dell Latitude 7460 running Windows 10. I installed the Windows client and worked with USB Headphone. Then a new release came by and upgraded and web client worked too, however about a month ago it stopped working with error Could not start audio source.

I have checked for windows updates and Dell driver updates but nothing has solved the issue.

Have you received similar rteports to this problem?

Thanks and Regards,

Sebastian Miranda

Hi Sebastian,

Provide the following detail (exactly please, not just major versions):

- Windows Version
- PBX Version
- What browser you used

Hi JohnS,

Please find below the information you requested:
Windows 10 Ver 1909 (Compilation 18363.592),
PBX Version: 16.0.493 Profesional Anual
Browser Google Chrome Version 79.0.3945.130 (Build oficial) (64 bits)

The same happens with the downloaded app, although my equipment works fine and sounds perfect with any other application.

Hopes this may clarify the scenario I am in.

Thanks and Best Regards,

Sebastián

JohnS,

As additional information, please note that everything worked fine, and stopped working without any aparent cause.

Regards,

Sebastian

- Can you confirm please if the Webclient can see your devices like my example?

- Is it Windows 10N by any chance?

Hi John,

Confirmed, the web client sees every audio device and the Windows specifications is:

It is not Windows 10N

Hi Sebastian,

Can you please try to make a call from the web client (using your extension) but from another PC?

Can you also share a screenshot of the webclient settings as it appears on mine?

Hi John,

Please find the screenshot of webclient settings

No matter which device I choose, the result is the same:

Login in to my extension from another PC worked just fine, even with both the PC's integrated souncard and with my USB headset.

Regards,

Sebastian

Ok looks like it is localized to your PC only. Lets check a couple more things:

1. Click the Lock icon in your URL bar in the WebClient and ensure microphone is "Allowed"
(You must always log into webclient using HTTPS)

2. Check that Webclient is selected

3. Google for "online mic test" and see if any other sites can utilize your mic and audio. If not, then you will have to troubleshoot your PC since this is no longer a Webclient or 3CX or Chrome issue

John,

This is what I found

Looks like my PC is running into trouble:

However I Checked permissions and they are permited.

John,

I checked back and reset Chrome, when I start pressing numbers for dialing an extension, I can hear the tones in my head set, when I pushed Dial a pop up openned to ask me if I allow access to de microphone and then I got the could not start audio source message again.

Regards,

Sebastian

Ok if you authorized the Mic, and it still does not work (even in a Mic Check site) then at least you know its your PC and not your 3CX.

Do you have any 3rd party Chrome extensions that may be causing this problem? Try Incognito mode to bypass them.

If it works in Incognito mode but does not work in Normal mode then the PC is also OK, but your browser is not.
