Hi,
I have few snom D765 phones set up as hotdesking devices and I am also running the 3CX client on the Windows machines at these work places.
The PBX system is hosted in the cloud, thus all phones are behind Raspberry Pi SBCs.

At first, everything seemed to work fine. The phones are working as expected and the windows client does recognize the phones after log-in and they can be selected to be controlled via CTI.
However when I dial a number in the windows client (does not matter what number) it will always send *77*5* instead of the dialed number to the phone, causing it to log out.

Hello @mamo

Please note that CTI is not supported with Hotdesking devices using the 3CX client for windows as stated in the guide: https://www.3cx.com/docs/hot-desking/#h.5y2bkz77bpyv
The reason for this is because CTI uses the line button on the phone to initiate a call but for hotdesking the first line button is set as the log out button. So when the client tries to initiate a call it basically presses the log out button.

Hmm, OK. Sounds a bit like an unnecessary limitation. Hope, this will change in the future.
Thank you very much for the information, anyway!

Now going to reconfigure the phones for single user operation again... :(

You can always use the web client and keep Hotdesking.
