Custom Tempates

I have copied the default yealink templates, as we adjust the line and function keys - template is saved as another name

I have a few issues

1. You can not change the template used by the extension when it has been already configured / provisioned. You have to delete the phone and enter the details using the correct template

2. When you assign a phone to an extension, it will always select the default template for the phone, you do not have the option to select which template

Is there away to overcome the above issues ?

We are running version 15 SP2

This is definitely a problem, is there a plan for an update that allows us to select a template at phone assignment as well as select an alternate template after phone has been provisioned?

Yes, this is a big issue. You should be able to select the template in the Phones tab, and select multiple to apply a template.
