I have used a custom template for years for some Grandstream handsets that we use. Never had any problems. I have always dumped the template into "ProgramData\3CX\Instance1\Data\Http\Templates\phones" so that it would just show up as a normal template instead of red text.... Now after update to SP4 it is no longer available to select in the drop down. I can export / import an extension to force it but that is a little silly. Did something change on the 3CX side? Trying to force us out of adding templates to the native template folder?

I think the location for custom templates is now "ProgramData\3CX\Instance1\Data\Http\Interface\provisioning\xxxxxxxxxx\CustomTemplates"

Hello @aberry

The correct way to add a template would be to copy an existing template through the management console and use that to apply your template so that the system knows that a template has been added right away.
I am not aware of something changing in regards to custom templates but you can try a restart of the management console service.

Thanks for the reply. I have rebooted the management console service and there is no change. This is the only system that I have updated to SP4, my other two sites are on SP2, and SP3 and are showing the template.

On the SP4 site if I go to system > templates, the custome templates are shown and can be edited and saved. If I go into an existing provisioned extension, it will show that the template is in use in the system. Only if I try to add a new phone to an extension, the two custom templates are not available. I will do more testing using the custom template folder and using my test instance of 3CX as well.

Re-Importing the templates seems to have fixed the issue. Got it back working the way that it was supposed to so maybe something changed in the xml layout or something.

Thanks!

Glad to issue has been resolved.
