I have inbound calls going to a Digital Assistant to read a greeting message then to a Ring Group so it calls 2 extensions.

In the Ring Group, if the call isn't answered in 30 seconds then it goes to the Ring Group's voicemail.

But that voicemail message is overly complicated. I just want something simple and custom like "We're sorry we missed your call, please leave a message and we'll return it as so as we can."

I have a .wav file created with this message, but I don't see anyplace to customize the voicemail message for a Ring Group voicemail.

Is this possible out of the box?

Is this possible with a call flow app?

Thanks!

You could send it to the voicemail of a new extension you create.

I'm using v18 and I don't see a place to just create an extension.

Do you mean create a "fake" user or am I missing the place to create an extension?

I think that is what you mean, the problem with that is that I use up one of my users and I can't specify multiple email addresses for the voicemail to be sent to.

I don't know what you mean by (I use up one of my users). You aren't charged per user with 3CX so I'm not sure what the issue is.

For the second part, it's called a group or distribution list or something along those lines depending on the email platform.

Yes they do. The lowest plan has 12 users.

It's a hassle to have to manage this externally.

No they don't

I guess you'll have to decide which is the bigger hassle. Maintaining a distribution list in your email system that was doing distribution lists before there was such a think as voicemail to email, or only having the the voicemail going to one person.

Short answer, because it was programmed to.

Longer answer, because traditional PBX sizing dictates that standard usage scenarios usually have a 3:1 or 4:1 ration of extensions to call paths. So that is acting as a guide, nothing more.

Thanks for letting me know ... that part of the website is very misleading.
