When the laptop connects what do you see in the Line Status Log in Debug mode? Does it say registering? Does it say anything?

If no entries then your not getting to your 3CX box and need to resolve that.

The laptop is registering in the system but the tech can't hear me & once
he plays around with the setup boom it works But that is a pain in
neck for a client to go thru everytime they plug their laptop up. For the
tech to deal with it is a bit much but a client won't deal with it all. It needs
to be plug & play for clients

So the softphone is actually working talking to the 3cx pbx, you just need to adjust it, correct?

I'm looking for a USB sip phone myself that I can throw in my laptop bag that doesn't require drivers and I can just plug into my laptop or if at a customer with a high speed connection, be able to plug into a PC and then have access to my 3CX pbx. Maybe something like this would work better for you. If I find one that works I'll let everyone know.

Colo. Had an old 1U P4 2.4 ghz with 1 gig memory I didn't feel like upgrading so now its working great as a PBX and hardly uses any resources.

Hello,

i have my pbx all set up with gafachi.com on the outbound and DID world Wide on the inbound.

Gafachi 1.8 cents per min outbound no inbound offered.
DID World Wide $5.00 a month no per min charges and 2 channels inbound per did.

on the soft phones you need to find one that has the NAT keep alive to keep working. the 3cx soft phone does not have this ferature so it does not work only for a less thatn a min after starting it up. after about 60 seconds you can not call it. it has a 900 second register time and i cannot see how to make it smaller.

the linksys SPA2102 gizmo i am using is great no problems at all. the polycom phones are still a no go as remote phones.

having a PBX at a COLO seems to remove the needot link up PBX's

There are a lot of choices and i don't want to download every one to try.

The 3CX server is not the problem, it is where your phones are located
& if they are not using public ip's then the router/nat has to have the
ports open in order for the phone to work with the server. Their is a list
of ports that need to be opened. Look in the forum for them.

I agree, I have a 3cx free version on a data center and I can register fine. I already tried in 2 location and I register ok.

The x-lite softphone works just fine with 3CX in a colo setup.
On the advance tab you can change the registeration time for
the softphone. You can set it for 5 minutes or 300 seconds

yes the x-lite works very fine. it has the NAT keep alive that makes it all good.
