Good Afternoon Colleagues
I hope you are doing good . I have an issue with 3CX and need your support for it . At digital receptionist , I create new extension for digital receptionist and add the choosing prompt by the customer. Once the caller press 1 , He will be forwarded to a queue to hear the prompt added to music of hold .

The issue that , When playing prompt at digital receptionist and after the caller press 1 ,there is a silence for about 4 seconds before the caller can hear the music of hold message set at the queue. How can i eliminate this silence or reduce it to 1 second at maximum ?

Best Regards

When making an IVR selection, there is an interdigit timeout of 2000ms, meaning that, from the moment you've made your selection, 2 seconds will pass before that selection is acted upon. In conjunction with the fact that the prompt playback gets cancelled the moment you make a selection means that there is a silence of at least 2 seconds between the IVR and the next destination by default. If you also consider the time it needs for the call to be routed to the selected destination and for the next audio file to be loaded and played back, which usually takes something over 1 second, it all adds up to approximately 4 seconds.

The only thing I can suggest is to make sure you have no silence at the start of the audio file used for the Call Queue music on hold.

Thx Chris for your feedback
