I have a customer who wants all there desk phones to show called in history regardless of who answered
Phones are Fanvil X4G when you press history on the screen it only shows history of that phone, is there any way to make them show all calls that have called in.
All phones are setup in a ring group all with manager rights
They don't want to use the web client
System is Windows and version Professional V16.0.4

Thanks

Hello

The history is stored locally on the phone device. So unless the phone has received the call, then it won't keep it in its history.

Is there any way to change it as there old system used to show it

No, I'm not aware of any way to show it on the devices. Like I said earlier, unless the phone has received the call, then it won't keep it in its history.

Thinking about it another way, is there any way to amend the config so when you press the History button on any phone it can access the call log list like the list in the phone system management

I don't think this would be possible even by modifying the templates.

VoIP based phones act more as independent devices that only talk to your PBX to establish the call session they are involved in.

As such, the phone system cannot control their local History, perhaps this is possible on other types of systems that are proprietary and have full remote control of each phone, or older systems that did not keep separate records and remotely controlled all devices updating them with the same history.

Perhaps the customer can be satisfied in another way like having access to call records or some other way? What is their workflow?

Thanks for the Replies I did think this would be the case.
Would there be any way of creating a link to the Call Log listing on the Phone System Manager, does it save to a file location or would it require admin access to view it

If this is for a manager to monitor the calls, you can give them access (for their own extension credentials) to view the management console and they are able to view recent calls, as well as get reports for older dates that don't appear there.

The system also provides access to CDRs (as a file) which you can combine with your own solution if you wish to filter and display logs relevant only to what you want to show (ie. only calls to a specific queue and hide all the rest).
