Hi All,

Really silly and basic question here. It caught me off guard as I don't really use contacts myself.

If I add a contact to my deskphone (Snom D715/STUN) and I restart it, or resync it loses all the contacts stored on it.

Also, if I add a contact on the deskphone or WebClient it does not appear on the other?

Thanks

Hi Alex

The phones usually support different types of phonebooks:

1. The personal phonebook is saved on the device and not sync'd anywhere. This should remain persistent unless you reset the phone

2. The 3CX Company Phonebook is downloaded from your PBX and updated when you restart. Anything you save there will get overwritten. It only contains company contacts, no personal contacts.

So you basically, you cannot send any contacts from the phone to the PBX, only the other way around and only company contacts.

On our clients though, we do support personal contacts that are shared on the desktop app, mobile app, and webclient.
Adding a personal contact there will sync it to your extension anywhere you are (except on desk phones as we described above)
