In 3CX v20, we are a softphone/web-client-only environment with no physical desk phones.

In the dashboard user view, when a user logs off their computer or their client is no longer registered, the user appears as “Not Registered.” We understand that this reflects endpoint registration state, but for receptionist visibility, this is not the most useful display.

We would like the dashboard or team/presence view to continue showing the user’s actual 3CX status, such as Available, Away, DND, Lunch, or Out of Office, even if the user has no currently registered endpoint.

Ideally, registration state would be shown as a secondary indicator, while the user’s selected presence/status remains the primary display value.

Example:

  • Status: Out of Office
  • Registration: Not Registered
This would be very helpful for organizations using 3CX without physical phones, where users rely entirely on the web client/PWA/softphone.

Hello @pse

What you are describing is the correct behavior from the system's point of view.

When a user has no registered endpoints, the system displays the user's status as Not Registered, indicating that the user is unavailable to receive calls regardless of their currently selected presence status.

At the moment, there is no option to prioritize displaying the user's presence status while showing the registration status as a secondary indicator.

If this is functionality you would like to see implemented, we recommend submitting it as a feature request in the Ideas Forum section, so it can be considered for a future release if it is upvoted by other partners.
