Device selection in the web client

I am confused (not unusual at all for me!). In the web browser client, what does selecting the active device do? Is that the device that the calls are routed to in addition to the web client? In my example here (see the screenshot) I have the web client, the desktop app and the mobile app. What if I wanted calls to go to the desktop app and the mobile app simultaneously? Can incoming calls go to all 3, and can outgoing calls be placed from any of the three without selecting which one you're using?

It allows you to select the default device to be used by the webclient, you can only select one.

WebClient - allows you to receive ./ make calls using the webclient
3CX Client for Mac - uses the Mac Client

If you have phones configured on your extension, you can select it as your main device

If your phone already has the 3CX mobile application and the account is active, it will always receive calls

Note : desk phones need to support CSTA

I don't understand what the pre-selected device setting actually does though. Right now I have my selection set to 3CX Client for Mac. If I make a call from the web client, it goes through the web client and not the desktop app. I'm missing something, probably very simple!

Also, on an incoming all all three (web client, desktop app and mobile) ring. Can I selectively choose which device(s) receive incoming calls at any point in time?

The preselected device is the device that you "remote control" to make calls.
If you select the Mac Client from the dropdown of the Webclient, and now make a call, you will see the Mac client dialling out. You may have thought that it goes through the webclient because it mirrors the mac client (remember, you are remote controlling).

Also, on an incoming calls you cannot select which one rings, they are all independent so if they are registered they will ring (like if you had 3 deskphones provisioned with your extension).
