I used DHCP option 66 with Yealink T46g phones for remote sites connected via vpn without issue on 3cx version 14. However ever since the upgrade to 3cx v15.5 and supported 3cx/Yealink firmware, it no longer auto provisions. I tried both the fqdn and the ip of the 3cx provisioning url. Has anyone else seen this happening when using DHCP option 66?

Hi i3,

No I have not and have tested it (I am sure with v15) although was quite a while ago.

Double check you have set it up correctly as per:
https://www.3cx.com/sip-phones/dhcp-option-66/

If you are getting issues you could always move across to using the SBC however I cannot see any reasons why this would not work.

Further info, if i use https in option 66 it does not provision. If I use http, it will provision. 3cx does have a valid certificate.

Most likely you need to upgrade the firmware version of the phones manually. HTTPS provisioning requires the phones to trust the cert and the LE root wasn't in earlier firmware versions.

Phones are on the most recent supported version. And this particular pbx is using my own SSL cert provided by GoDaddy.

So now the phones provision with Option 66 and the local link? Is the issue present only when using the https link? Try downloading the configuration file manually from a pc on the phones side of the tunnel and see if that works.
You can paste the provisioning link in a browser followed by the mac address of the phone. For example: https://{FQDN}:5001/provisioning/xxxxxxxxxx/{MAC Address}.cfg

I had issues with the latest firmwares as supported by 3cx the other day.. downgraded to the previously supported firmware and it provisioned perfectly.
upgraded the firmware after being provisioned and it seems to still work fine.. havent tried factory resetting the phone again since the firmware update as its working.

But yeah.. im pretty confident theres some kind of issue with the latest firmware under certain circumstances.

We used option 66 for 40 new T46's just a week ago, and every single one went perfectly, they were new in box from yealink.
