How can I setup a hosted 3CX system so users dial 0 for operator?
I cannot control the option to allow calls from/to external SIP URIs, so setting the SIP ID doesn't work.
Am I missing something here?

Hi @Rolluf,

I wanted to find out, is the need to dial 0 explicit? You could set up a BLF on each extension's phone / web client to dial the operator extension with the press of a button.

If you really want a "press 0 for operator" then you may want to set up a Digital Receptionist to prompt users to press 0 to connect to the operator.

Hi, press 0 for operator is what they used on the old system, They wanted to keep the number plan the same as much as possible. For now I will go with the BLF option.
Thanks for the feedback.

Hi @Rolluf,

I agree that it would be the easiest transition given that its a hosted system.

If you need any further assistance, feel free to let us know.

Setting the SIP ID of the operator extension to zero should work. However, you also must enable Direct SIP calls for this to work. Perhaps in a future 3CX release, this function could be separated, to allow internal, and external, Direct SIP calls.
