I've seen it both ways.. dial 4 to dial out, or just dial a number to dial out.

What do you guys recommend?

Using a prefix to dial out , is the old fashion way that some pbax required.

Just setup the 3cx to dial out using the number

If users are use to adding a prefix, create an outbound rule which removes the prefix

Using a prefix, such as the normal default of 9, can allow a more "creative" use of outbound rules, especially if you plan on expanding, in the future. It all depends on how complicated you want to get, and possibly what users have been used to, in previous systems.
