Difference between Sim Calls and Sim Meeting Licence

Hi,

I want a small help.

We have 32 sim calls and 100 sim Meeting participants.

Please let me know if Im correct about the following. I know some of these questions are very basic, but I need someone to confirm.

1. If it is audio call then the “32 sim calls” will be used.
   
   
2. If it is webmeeting over internet, then “simulatenous meeting licence” will be used.
   
   
3. If it is audio call from a windows Client, whether it is the sim call or sim meeting that will be used? I believe it is the sim call that will be used.
   
   
4. If it is a video call(ad-hoc) from windows client, whether it will be the sim call or sim meeting that will be used? I believe it is the sim meeting that will be used.
   
   
5. If it is an audio call from webclient, whether it will be the sim call or sim meeting that will be used? I believe it is the sim call that will be used.
   
   
6. If it is a video call from webclient, whether it will be the sim call or sim meeting that will be used? I believe it will be the sim meeting that will be used.
   
   
7. Also, is it possible to make video calls that use the sim meeting, when we are already using the complete 32 channel sim calls? I believe it is possible.

Can someone please confirm these? Or if I'm wrong about any of these, please provide me with the correct answers.

To keep the response as short as possible for you the main points you really need to know are:

* Any audio call between endpoints will count to your 32 sim call licence. It is my thoughts that a one to one video call is not a "Webmeeting" so would also count here it would be good for confirmation however..

* Any Webmeeting will count to your 100 participants (use of browser):

Note: if an audio conference is used (no video/webmeeting) the participants will count against your 32 sim call licence.

I understand that all audio calls will be using the 32 sim call licence.
My doubts come when the video call is in question. I was under the impression that a 1-1 video call will also use "sim meeting licence".
Can someone from 3CX please let us know which one will be used?

Also, even if the 32 call channels are being used, can we still use the webmeetings as the 100 meeting channels are still being unused?

Official confirmation would be good however my thoughts have always been that a one to one video call is a call not a participant in a meeting.

There is no meeting in process in a one to one call and thus should not effect the meeting count.

Please note that audio calls will count against your Sim call licence. Also direct video calls (not through web meeting) will count against your sim call licence.
Only webmeeting participants will count against your webmeeting participants licence.

Sorry to be a pain.
Can you please let me know how the video call works via the Sim Call license and not via the web-meeting license?
A brief idea on it would be great, or any links where I can check it out myself.
I'm just confused on how it uses the sim call license when it is a video call.
Also, will the load on 3cx increase now that the call is elevated to a video call?

WebMeeting is a service hosted by 3CX so it has a different licence count for its participants. Calls and video calls go through the PBX so they count towards the simultaneous call licence of the PBX. Being an audio or a video call does not matter to the PBX when it comes to sim. calls as long as a call is established. That is the most simply way i can explain it.

Also, will the load on 3cx increase now that the call is elevated to a video call?

The increase in load comes from the additional bandwidth needed as video is more demanding that way. There is no processing done by the PBX in video calls as the PBX acts as a pass-through.
