We have a CRM that uses a MSSQL DB back end. I have the SQL Query written, but not yet configured in 3CX. Some of the contacts have the same telephone numbers. This is considered normal, some of the numbers are work places of where multiple contacts work. The contacts could also be husband and wife that have the same home numbers or share a mobile.

How does 3CX handle multiple contacts with the same phone numbers? Also what details would be displayed to the users when their phones ring?

If you setup 3CX for with your SQL statements, and click on the test button what does your code return ?

It returns 2 separate groups of details for the two users. I haven't had someone in one of these scenarios call yet so unsure as to what will be created in the 3cx Contacts.

Also noticed that when someone calls for the first time, it creates the contact in 3cx, but the details are not passed onto the used. Subsequent calls, the details are passed on and the name of the caller is shown. Is the correct behavior?

In any situation, where you have multiple entries using a single "lookup" number/name, you are probably going to have some sort of issue. Usually only one entry is going to be retrieved. It may simply be the first one encountered (matched), going down the list in the database.
