HI..
I find that there is about 12 second delay for the prompt, if I set the Digital Receptionist to accept incoming calls.
If I change incoming calls to go to an extension or queue, the delay is only 3 seconds, which is acceptable.

Any idea how to resolve the delay for Digital Receptionist?

I am afraid we will need more details to be able to assist. Please start by providing the details as described here: https://www.3cx.com/community/threads/information-to-provide-when-requesting-help.67558/
Also let us know if the issue occurs only for calls coming from an external number or do you also experience the issue when an extension calls the Digital Receptionist?

  • 3CX Version, Professional 16.0.9
  • Server OS Windows 10
  • Is the 3CX Server Hosted and where? No... Its on-prem,
  • IP Phone Make/Model/Firmware 66.85.0.5
  • Provisioning Method: Local / VPN / STUN / SBC Local
  • Trunk Provider or Gateway Make/Model Ringoffice
  • Has the Firewall Checker passed: YES
  • Are custom Phone Templates being used: NO
Internally, if I call the Digital Receptionist extension, it is 2 second delay, which is fine.
But externally calling in it takes 12- 15 seconds for the audio prompt of the Digital Receptionist to start.

I tried changing inbound calls just to one extension, and the wait is only 2-3 seconds.. Only issue when I let the Digital Receptionist to pick up the call do I find the long delay. Thanks in advance!!

That is odd indeed. Call the digital receptionist from your mobile and check if the call is answered by the PBX during the delay. You can do so by navigating to dashboard and clicking on the "Number of calls in use". Check if the call is answered by the PBX while the delay occurs.

The 3CX Activity Log will show the time 3CX gets the initial Invite from your provider. It will then show when the call is presented to the IVR, so you are able to confirm if the delay is caused by 3CX.

I restarted the 3cx box and the problem with the delay went away. Thanks for the inputs.
