Hi all.

We are looking to terminate calls onto our pbx using one of these services and can do it using an extension, however can not work out how to teminate using a ring group or call Queue, as we can not specify a name (where as we can under an individual extension) or am I missing somthing

https://www.3cx.com/docs/direct-sip/#h.sbg8sk9mdjzj

thanks in advance

I could do it by forwarding an extension but this feels wrong?

Normally you configure a SIP trunk,

If 3CX has the correct template for the provider , use the template - https://www.3cx.com/partners/sip-trunks/

Else you will have to use a generic one under Generic Sip Trunk, under Generic country.

so not possible with Direct Sip?

I'm confused. What name would you need to specify? Queues and ring groups have extension numbers

so can I just use <extension>@<directsipURL>
I did think I tried this but did not work where as on an extension the name worked

do I need an inbound rule?

Well I'd start by trying the direct SIP URL and confirm it is hitting 3CX and then adjust based on the logs. I haven't played with direct SIP on 3CX in sometime but I imagine this should work.

If you can get a Direct SIP call to route to an extension number (be certain that this works before proceeding), then it should work to the 3CX internal number associated with a ring group or IVR.
There is also nothing wrong with sending a call to an extension, then using forwarding, to send another destination. It's done all the time.
