Direct SIP support on Grandstream HT801 ATA Gateway

Hi,

We're looking to install a new hosted 3CX solution for an existing customer, who is looking to just use the 3CX app on their mobile phones, so there's no current need for any onsite handsets.
The problem we have is with an existing alarm system, that has a dialer connected, which calls a preset mobile number if the alarm is triggered.

In order to connect this to the customer's broadband circuit we're considering installing a Grandstream HT801 ATA Gateway. As this will be the only device onsite, it seems expensive to also install an SBC to enable it to connect to the hosted 3CX PBX. Does anyone know if this device supports Direct SIP (Stun - remote) and has anyone had any experience of setting this up on a similar device?

Hi,
perhaps simplest way could be to replace alarm dialer by a GSM one and forget gateways , SBC and headache.

That does sound like a better option, I guess we could just install a pay as you go SIM.

Hi Dave,

Do not rely on ATA for critical things such as alarms or emergency phones.
If the device freezes, or power, network, internet or analog cable are severed, it won't be able to do its job.

As above, a GSM system is much more reliable for this type of requirement.
