Hello,

I am trying to set up a new backup just for recordings but when I navigate to the backup and restore page in the PBX

it says "Directory xxxxxxx is not found"

Any ideas?

Hello @Andy Veal

Is the error visible as soon as you enter the Backup and Restore tab or is an action triggering this error? Where backups working prior to the error?

When I select the option, I have now set up a new location for the backup under google drive,

ran the backup but it failed and now I have 502 error when trying to access the PBX?

502 bad gateway probably means that the Nginx service is down. Try to access the PBX at the operating level and check the status of the service. Try to start it if the service is down.

restarted the server and services, re-running the backup. it seems to be failing because its using up too much disk space when running the backup.

How big is the recording folder and also do you have the space to do a local backup to see if that works?

its big, 78GB. Disk space doesn't seem to be enough to run the backup.

If I increase disk space can this be brought back down>?

If this is a local machine i would recommend adding another drive and selecting that as the backup location. Once you are done you can remove the drive.

is it possible to backup per extension?

is it possible to backup per extension?
No i am afraid this is not possible. The only options available are the ones under the Backup menu

then it seems I am stuck unable to run a backup with recordings.

Is there no way around this? Can I mount the Gdrive on the server and copy the files across?

so after purging logs, call history etc and getting the recordings down to 57gb and with 40gb on the disk the backup still fails with the below errors:

CX Phone System tried to backup but failed due to the following reason(s):
System.IO.IOException: Entries cannot be created while previously created entries are still open.

This is a backup of recordings only.

Please note that when a backup is run the file is build locally before it can be uploaded. If the recordings are 57gb and there are only 40gb available on the disk then the backup will fail.

Is the file not compressed as it is uploaded?

We have 2 PBX setups and 1 has 20GB of recordings with only 11GB disk space and this runs fine.

I have now done a local backup of just recordings only and this has worked.

Just not sure why it needs so much disk space?

On a side note I have now set the retention period in the quota for recordings but it doesn't seem to have cleared any yet? Is this done overnight or do I need to do something to prompt the deletion of the old files?

The file is compressed when creating a backup but how much depends on the data. If the local backup worked that means that the PBX has enough space to run the backup and the issue is located elsewhere when trying to backup to google drive.

The PBX checks for files to be deleted every 30 minutes. The PBX will delete files based on the creation date of the file in the OS.

Thanks, looks like its deleted the old recordings now.

So the backups, does it zip the files as they are created or when its finished?

The backup created by the PBX is zipped from the start. It does not create a file and then tries to zip it.
