Disable Chat

Is there any way to disable the chat feature system wide? or even on a per extension basis?

I have been evaluating this software for 2 weeks and I have been able to overcome all issues except this. I am hoping this is just an option I have overlooked somewhere.

There doesn't even appear to be a logging function. There must be some way to either disable chat completely or log the communications. As this stands now, implementing this PBX would be a violation of Sarbanes-Oxley.

This PBX is excellent in every other respect, curious how this was overlooked.

Hi there,

You can't disable the chat system wide. However you can disable it per extension. From the 3CX Phone for Windows click on chat and then click on chat settings. Set the Chat Status to Offline.

As an admin, how do you disable chat by extension for all extensions? Can this be done from the 3cx Management Console? I don't see it any where. Thanks!

You log into each extension from 3CX phone and set each extension to offline.

I just got hit with this today by one of my bank customers. They either need to be able to log chats, for harassment purposes. Or turn of chat completely. Hopefully in a patch we can get an update to disable chatting system wide.
