Hi all,

Sorry if this is duplicated anywhere else, I searched but couldn't find anything,

I have a client who does NOT want the "Panel" option available to their users. They are concerned that seeing that info, shown in "Panel", may be abused in some way. They were also concerned about the ability to drop others' calls via the receptionist panel view. I tested options with the client and couldn't find a way to hide/disable this. IS there a way to disable or hide the "Panel" view from a user's web/desktop client? I don't think there is BUT that's why we have this great community of telephony geeks... :-)

Any ideas/feedback?

Thanks in advance,

Mike

Hi, the panel can not be hidden in the web client or desktop app, however you will need to review the roles and permissions given to each user in the group, so only the users with correct permission can perform actions on the calls, and also configure correctly who can show and see the group calls.

Please read more about it in this documentation and this table

Understood and thanks for the timely response Alejandro!

I have confirmed that the user is a standard user, has the "user" role assigned (exactly as a new user would be set up). I just got done with further testing and the results were that a standard user, with basic "user" roles (user A) was able to drop a call between 2 other users (users B and C) without having anything to do with that call. User A simply looked at the call in the Panel view, right clicked and dropped the call. Doesn't seem right. Is this standard behavior or is this something I should take up with support?

In that user's "Rights" tab, uncheck the option for "Can see group calls" and you shouldn't have to worry about that user ending calls they shouldn't.

Alternatively, in the "Group" settings for "User" role, you could uncheck the "Show calls to group members" setting, or the "Can see group calls" and both should eliminate visibility of other calls in the Panel.

Thanks Chris, I'll give that a shot! Very much appreciated. :)
