Disable Use of 3CX Softphone for Extension

How can I prevent an extension from using 3CX softphone?
Enabling Disallow use of extension outside the LAN" still allows it to connect.

Simply prevent them from knowing it exists so they can't install it?

isn't the sbc tunnel not affected by extension tunnel settings?

Don't give them the password, how will they provision the softphone?

The welcome email can be edited in Settings -> Email -> Templates.

And I do agree that an independent switch would be great but try disabling the tunnel on one extension and see if the SBC is affected.
