Hi, I am a newbie to the app (and therefore this forum), and am trying to turn off SIP encryption so I can view the SIP messages & call flows in Wireshark. So far I have:

1) De-selected "Secure SIP/TLS" in the Security Settings "Secure SIP" menu
2) De-Selected "SSL/SecureSIP Transport and Ciphers" in the "Anti Hacking" Tab.
3) Rebooted the PC/Server

However, the traces I take still show TLSv1.2 and I get no visibility of SIP messages during calls.

Sure I've missed something simple but...

Thanks,
Rob

Hi @RobPilk,

What specific traffic are you trying to see and why?

You won't be able to see anything sent over the Web Client, Electron App or anything using WebRTC, as encryption is built in by default. You won't be able to see much if you're trying to view traffic from a mobile app either as it uses a tunnel.

Hi, Thanks for the quick response..The settings gave the impression I could disable it, and I know this is possible in other similar software.. Looks like I'll need to try a different application, as my purpose is one of learning and observing the SIP traffic.
Thanks,
Rob

Hi Rob,

For learning purposes, if you need to see the SIP messages, your best option would be to probably get an IP Phone and register it to your 3CX either as Local LAN or as STUN.

I'll flag this as 'Solved', but consider it, there are a few that I know of that use 3CX as learning platform for SIP.
