Add the ability for calls to different groups or queues to have different ring tones.

This can be achieved by selecting the ring type in the group or queue settings and then putting the sting in the alert-info header in the SIP invite. It is supported on most handsets (SNOM, yealink, Hanvil, Htek) and the provisioning templates could be modified to make it work seamlessly.

I need this for Ring Groups! We are using Yealink T48S phones now. Customers ask for this a lot. They don't want the complexity for call queues.

Will it work for Ring Groups too??

We have been begging for this

Is this scheduled to be in v16?

I'm in the same boat here - I tried experimenting with queues, but that's not an option because as soon as the call connects to the queue, the caller no longer hears the phone ringing, but rather whatever is programmed for the queue (music, message, etc). I tried just doing a ring-all setting thinking that would do the trick, but no luck. So trying to get a distinctive ring for a particular DID just seems impossible.

1 - 3CX should include the option to allow modification of the INVITE header. That would solve the problem.

2 - 3CX should allow ring groups to have distinctive ringtones just like they have done for queues. We use ring groups exclusively, and as mentioned above, I tried to rig it up and make it work through the queue, but it's too clunky.

So if anyone comes up with a way to get the distinctive ringtone to work with DIDs, let me know.

Need it multiple times...
The queues can't be always the solution.

Please sort this out, the default ring tone is awful

I had to do this manually for one customer still using Polycom VVX410's via a custom template. It defines Queue/IVR/External as all different alert-info fields but you cannot change the IVR alert-info anywhere. (yes I know it's a legacy phone, but the behavior still holds true on say a Yealink T56A)

Just went live with my first 3CX install and what is the first customization they ask for after using the phones for 5 minutes? You guessed it, distinctive ringing based on Ring Group. We are using Yealink phones which support this but not 3CX so I am going to have to make see if they can settle for something else...well, really nothing for now.

Glad to hear that it is "In Progress" though. Any estimated release time-frame for this feature and will it allow for custom Alert-Info values? Is this feature currently in Beta?

Making the Alert-Info values fully customizable really seems like the only way to go in my opinion. Then they could be defined by DID, ring group, CID, queue, trunk, internal, external, etc.

Is this still being implemented for ring groups since it says "In Progress"? I, like a lot of the people who voted for this feature, have customers that need this. I just want to be able to tell them either it's coming in a future update or tell them it's not possible with ring groups. Seems just half of the feature request has been implemented.

I would also appreciate an update here from the 3CX crew. Please let us know when or if this will become available. Thanks.

+1
Basic "Must-have" feature!

Alert info headers for ring groups are an absolute MUST HAVE, even the most basic PBX solutions provide this feature. For smaller installs, ring groups are more convenient than queues. Is there any ETA on this?

I have had many consumers ask for this it would be a great feature, Ring group or inbound route different ring tone would be awesome...
