Hi

Our 3CX system diverts calls to an external call answering service outside of office hours. The problem is that the external service see the call as coming from our PBX default voip account number rather than the phone number of the person who called so we don't get correct phone number in the message they take.

Is it possible for 3CX to divert the call but still keep the phone number of the original person who called?

Hello @IA76

This is possible as long as your provider supports this and you have configured your trunk with the correct settings.
The first thing to is to contact your provider and ask if they support this functionality as not all providers allow calls to be made with a caller id that doesn't belong to your trunk.
If this is supported then you need to know which SIP field they use to read the caller id from.
Once you know this you can then navigate to your trunks settings / Outbound parameters and set the sip field your provider uses to "OriginatorCallerId"
Do not apply any changes before contacting the provider as this might break outbound calling

Thanks for the response. I will contact our SIP provider.

Glad i could help. Let us know if you require further assistance
