today, I had to troubleshoot why an extension couldnt receive inbound calls.

the user had accidentlaly typed in *61 and put there extension in DND mode.
they should have typed in *641 for the default office open

however, in the management console, there status says available.
no matter what I did, I could not get it out of dnd without using a short code

Why when you hit buttons on the phone (using SNOM D785) and the management console, and the user webclient, I couldnt change the status.

Why does this happen?
surely if you hit DND on the phone, it should put the extension on DND and take it out w/o the need for a short code to be entered on the phone.
anybody got good information to share?

It's an old DND code that is no longer used now but can cause conflicts since it does not actually change the status.

@ConceptsWeb is right, it is an old dial code that we recommend not using any more.

If you want you can go into "Settings >> Parameters", search for "SETAWAY" and change the dial code to something else so that users don't accidentally dial it.

In the meantime, to set it back to available, have the user dial *60.
