Today, my monitoring tool started to complain about missing DNS entries for the 3CX phone systems.
All domains at 3cx.ch has begun to fail 10 minutes ago with "No DNS record"
I hope this will be fixed soon.

All of our clients are offline....

DNS 205.171.202.66 can still resolve 3cx.ch
If you are able to make static DNS entries at your customers sites, you can temporarily fix the problem.

Looks like the domain has been reactivated.

It will probably take a moment for this to go through everywhere.

Hi all,

The domain has not expired. We're working with the provider towards resolving the issue asap.

We apologize for the inconvenience this has caused. We expect a resolution very soon.

Do you really think people aren't smart enough to do a Whois query?

Please no lies. The domain was in the redemption period, which means that it has expired since it didnt get renewed or got deleted. There are enough ppl here that know what a redemption period is ...

Quote:The Redemption Grace Period is an addition to ICANN's Registrar Accreditation Agreement (RAA)[2] which allows a registrant to reclaim their domain name for a number of days after it has expired.[3] This length of time varies by TLD, and is usually around 30 to 90 days.[3]

I understand your frustration, however please do not jump into conclusions without knowing all the information about something. (apply this generally, not only in this case). The domain was last renewed in November for 5 years, thus expiring in 2028. The CH registry required some updated documents which were not provided in time which resulted in the temporary suspension of the domain.

The domain has now been restored. Once again we apologize for any inconvenience caused by this. We will make sure it doesn't happen again.

It's a pity that 3CX doesn't simply say here that they've made a huge mistake. It would also be nice if this were published on the official website. The partners are getting all the trouble from the customers and are in need of an explanation regarding 3CX. Support is different.

+1 .... no comment - thanks for fixing now

confirm all 3cx.ch again online thanks

3 hours to communicate I think you can also understand our frustration.
Especially as it was more or less predictable, wasn't it?
Our customers were understanding because they were informed quickly.

The only acceptable response to prevent this in the future is that 3CX implement the possibility to provide our own domain and renewing the certificates by running let's encrypt locally.
It would be nice ...

We are apologize for this profoundly. A document was not provided to the domain authorities on time. In our defense the original request was actually sent by post (snail mail) and somehow didn't arrive at our offices. An internal investigation has been started.

it would be great if I could use a domain name under my own control and responsibility for 3CX instead of relying on a 3CX-owned domain (as my hosted PBX is not hosted by 3CX).
