We have an onsite 3cx server
We like to keep our mobile phones on a guest wifi network configured on Unifi
However the app on the phones when connected to the guest network does not work
I assume it is because the guest network cannot see the 3cx server when checking the FQDN
We use a windows DNS server.
Can anyone advise how I can resolve this please

As this is not down to 3cx, more a networking issue with the router - I suggest you post this on the correct forum.

When you say UniFi guest network, does this network have a separate IP address range configure with vlan Id or have you assigned the guest policy to a network

I am guessing traffic between the two networks are blocked, Basically you need to allow tcp / udp port 5090 and the https port from the guest network to 3cx network, and configure the 3cx fqdn on the guest network to point to the 3cx IP address

Providing your 3CX passes it's firewall test there should be no problem with your mobiles resolving the FQDN. No reason for your guest network to be using your Windows DNS server so point it at Google.

Despite the fact that this is definitely a networking issue, I just want to add that if you're not 100% sure what the problem is (e.g DNS, traffic being restricted) you can probably get hints on what it might be depending on what the 3CX App does. Do you get a specific message when you launch it, do you see presence information(extension status, contacts, etc) but can't make calls, what happens exactly?
