Do I need SBC for mobile user calling to office ext from outside of the LAN?

Hi;

Can anyone tell me if I want to use 3CX with the following scenarios, do I need to install a SBC?

1. The iOS client on employee A's iphone to call back to office by dialing the office extension only for employee B.

2. A remote staff using a Yealink desktop phone to connect to 3CX system in company over internet (no vpn).

For the above two scenarios, the SBC is must or just setting the 3CX server behind a firewall?

Remote user ---> internet ---> Company Firewall ---> 3CX system

or

Remote user ---> internet ---> SBC ---> Company Firewall ---> 3CX system

Please note that 3CX mobile clients for iOS and Android use the tunnel to connect to the PBX so there is no need for an SBC.
For remote IP Phones however you may choose to to install an SBC in multiple ip phones are present behind the same local IP or use STUN. SBC has the added benefit of not needing firewall configuration and it saves on bandwidth as extensions behind the same SBC can talk directly between them.

Is it good to place a firewall in front of the 3CX server for mobile client, or using the built-in firewall on 3CX server if it is facing to internet for mobile client.

Please note that 3CX is not a firewall and cannot replace your firewall. For added security i would recommend using a firewall and opening the correct ports the PBX needs to operate.
