Could the Windows firewall make the system drop calls? It seams we are getting 4 to 5 calls dropping a day.

Did you check the log yet to see the reason for the dropped call?

ya, nothing special in the logs, looking at the Patton next.

Hi VictorC,

You want to troubleshoot 3CX fully with VERBOSE Logs to try and understand why the issue is occurring: https://www.3cx.com/docs/collecting-logs-for-3cx-support/

You will have an easier time troubleshooting 3CX than the Patton.

You will be able to troubleshoot the Patton in the command line of the unit using the below commands:

If ISDN:

enable
show running‐config
debug call‐router
debug call‐control
debug ccisdn signaling
debug context sip‐gateway signaling detail 5
debug context sip‐gateway transport detail 5
debug context sip‐gateway error

If FXO:

enable
show running‐config
debug call‐router
debug call‐control
debug fxo
debug ccfxo
debug context sip‐gateway signaling detail 5
debug context sip‐gateway transport detail 5
debug context sip‐gateway error

For both, after completing the test, type “no debug all” to disable the debug output

have it in verbose now, will let you all know what I find in the next couple days..

I would recommend turning the windows firewall on the PBX machine off as if the machine is dedicated for 3CX it is not needed and could cause issues.
Also what do you mean by dropped calls? Does the line drop while a call is established or during ringing? Can you elaborate on the issue?

Hello, calls are dropped incoming on a Patton, they ring and when picking up the call it's dropped. Sometimes they do not get to pick it up before it's dropped. This is not the case on the VOIP lines.

In that case you could also run a capture on the PBX and see who is dropping the call. Since the call also reaches the PBX the PBX logs could also help you with troubleshooting. Set the logging level to verbose for maximum log details. You can do so by navigating to Dashboard / Activity Log / Settings

I have it on verbose now, last couple days... No more dropped calls that I no of since turning the firewall off.

I would keep an eye it for now since the dropped calls stopped and set the logging level to low for now. Verbose logging is putting a stress on the resources especially on busy systems.

I take that back, just got an email from them that it has dropped a couple over the last couple days.

Tracy : 1:21 – Ruth Hurst 5709321801 (echo )

Tracy : Tue 15th 1:22pm ( 19 seconds and he couldn’t hear Tracy but she could hear him )

Olivia : 3:06 – dropped when picked up

Olivia : 4:38 – dropped when picked up

Olivia : today 8:28 – Gino called ( couldn’t hear me, hung up and called back )

I'm not sure where to go from here, don't see anything in the logs that look bad.

Are the phones local or remote to the PBX? Are they provisioned using the default template?
Is the Patton configured using the config file generated from 3CX?
Please provide some additional info regarding your setup so we are better able to assist.

Hello,

Are the phones local or remote to the PBX? all local

Are they provisioned using the default template? Custom Yealink template, but only ring tone changed

Is the Patton configured using the config file generated from 3CX? Yes

In that case i would recommend provisioning a phone with the default template and creating a ticket with our support department so they can look at the PBX logs when this behaviour is replicated and find the cause of the issue.
